Emotional Shift EP [CLIPP049] by COMPUTERDATA
What's the cure for breakups, heartaches, and general blue Mondays? A hard-hitting dancefloor. Wipe the tears away and head down to your nearest den for a night of shameless dancing, as you forget it all. You may barely be able to see the person next to you after a couple but going up to the DJ booth and requesting any song from Computer Data’s new EP might just cap off your night. ‘Emotional Shift’ has been a change of pace for Computer Data as he aims to create songs suited for the deep dancefloor. Feel the same vibe of CD that you already know and love but with a sprinkle of punchy goodness.
-“fog” takes you through a journey of a lapse of clarity. It’s a hard hitter, with a very serious undertone behind it. This one is definitely meant for feeling “something” on the dance floor. At around 5:50 into the track, it shifts into a bone-rattling trance of glistening synths, kinda meant as a glimpse into what’s to come.
“healing” begins to open up from the haze that “fog” leaves. The title has a lot of meaning behind this one, laced with distant vocals telling you to “let the healing into your heart”. The track encapsulates the title of the EP, an emotional shift towards happiness, peace of mind, hope, and (some) clarity. This track was written with a lot of personal hardships on CD’s mind from a recent relationship, and always pictured being entranced by it at the end of a long set in the club.
“u” is the softest and most cheerful track on the EP for a reason. It’s the tail end of an emotional shift; one that’s in a good direction. The wavyy/bouncy synth lead on this one is clear and present, hopefully gifting listeners with a hypnotizing melody. There’s a little sadness tucked away in this one, but this track is about hope and encapsulates the way i’ve felt after meeting someone new in my life. Hence the name, “u”. This one is about new beginnings, and I think that shows.
